| We are working to secure better funding, staffing and quality of
care for older Australians - both now and into the future - Because We Care.
There's been a fantastic response so far. Over 15,000 charters have been signed, hundreds of emails have been sent to the Minister and more than 2,400 people have joined us on Facebook.
Nurses specialise in aged care because they value older people and they love their work.
However, quality aged care is under threat and we are losing qualified registered nurses, who are paid up to $300 per week less than their colleagues in other sectors.
The government needs to guarantee that taxpayer funding is used for resident nursing care and for minimum staffing levels.
Now is the time to ask your Federal MP and Senator to deliver for aged care in the 2010 Budget.
The ANF has launched a national postcard campaign so that you can send a message to your MP.
Our aim is to have over 100,000 postcards - signed by the community and aged care workers - sent directly to Federal MPs and Senators. Click here to determine which Federal Electorate you live in and the name of your Representative.
Please take a moment to show your support for quality aged care and send a message to your MP.
